By Leticia Jensen

Wyoming has one of the beautiful rivers and the adventures one can experience. The Wind River is one of its tourist spots that extends up to Thermapolis calling it a different name although it is just one part of the winding river. Bighorn River, its second name, had been said to originate from the miscommunications of the previous explorers.

In the Wind country, you have plenty of things to do and this involves trekking, climbing, and horseback riding. This spot is surrounded by mountains carving to a lake that allows you to fish as many as you can and spot rare animals in the flesh. If you are the type of person who likes to challenge yourself, then read through the adventures you can pursue in the Wind River WY.

If you are up for some hiking experience, the Wyoming Wind Range offers an endless track for exploration. It could be long enough before you can spot any sign of civilization. You can find vast vegetation, thick forests, and hundreds of small lakes along the backpacking adventure. Capturing a panoramic view of the lush and rocky state can be possible by walking through its endless peaks.

For climbing enthusiasts, the rugged set up of the winds can confuse you on which to climb first. Although the Cirque of Towers is the best site for people who climb, do not overlook the beauty of the historic glacial activity around the spot. However, if you really like to take your climbing skills to the next step, visiting thousands of towers in Cirque of Towers would be advisable.

In addition, the Cirque of Towers offer different levels of difficulty for climbers. Once you reached the spot, ten miles south of the winds, you will be confused on which tower to climb. It is surrounded by many rugged peaks and towers and climbing them all would be impossible. Aside from that, the beauty of the tourist spots is priceless over there.

The Gannett Peak is also known as the best spot for professional mountaineers. Many have said that amateur climbers must think twice before taking the challenge to climb it. It is the highest peak between Yellow Stone and Winds so the level of difficulty is much higher in there. Plus, the remoteness is said to be the most challenging part of the journey.

For those who want to relax, the views of the mountain and lakes are at reach. You might also encounter mountain lions and grizzly bears along the way. It is advised that you stay far from those wild animals because they are very territorial. Overall, the lush greens and the land forms are a view to behold for every tourist.

Before leaving, here are safety measures you need to know. First, always wear your gear and do not remove it unless needed. Next, stay together with the group, radio communication may fail because of the remoteness. Then, do not go near any wild animal when you meet them on the trail.

Lastly, the best time to visit the winds would be summer. The alps have already melted and climbing have been opened to everyone. Furthermore, you can also go there in the winter for skiing. Always remember that the weather could change from time to time in the Winds.
