How Ruger Scope Mounts Give Sharp Shooters Better Aim And Accuracy

By Maria Campbell

Weapons have constantly been a part of our life as a human beings to protect us from enemies. The challenge sometimes knows who the real enemy is, and sometimes weapon can be used for mass destruction. However the fact remains that a gun is an incredible weapon that can efficiently annihilate its opponent.

But the efficiency of a gun highly depends on the user. Because in the hands of an experienced shooter the gun can be welded responsibly and easily compared to a beginner. In these modern age there are many spare parts and accessories such as the ruger scope mounts to help improve the user experience of different kinds of people.

Scopes are used to give the shooter a better and clearer view of their target whether done in daylight or night time. Part of hunting is stalking the prey in an efficient and swift matter, so that the prey will not get away. However it requires a solid foundation that will not get in the way of hunting or shooting because it might even pose a risk to the user.

A complete system that provides this kind of accuracy can be achieve through a reliable mounting unit. And composed of rails, covers, base, and rings. Each of these components are essential in giving the scope the stability and accuracy it provides to the user. And if not properly installed then it might compromise the users accuracy in their aim and shooting.

Rails are used as a platform against the base and ring. This is where it is placed, it has ridges perpendicular to the parallel rails. Not only do they provide clearance from the screw locks, but are also used as a buffer for other accessories too.

The rail is the platform where the scope will rest on and depends on the height. Again the rail is considered as the platform and it is designed to have ridges that are 90 degrees parallel. The rail provides stability during hunting sessions or during a tactical exercise. Where precision is required, and through the scope itself and with a good mounting system. Getting the right shoot at your target is done easily.

Hence it is imperative that those individuals who enjoy getting good game and having better shooting and aim should use a reliable mount system. Mount systems come in 2 like the fixed and detached. Under the fixed there is universal and dovetail while the detach has 3 called the clamp, picatinny, and weaver.

Fixed mounts are very sturdy and can only be used on one type of guns. The oldest type of mount is the dovetail or the leupold which was patented around 1931. More over the universal is a redesigned of the leopold design however it is not as durable as the first one yet variety of guns can use it. But it requires careful placement, so that scope can be stable.

The dovetail is the oldest and patented by John Redfield in 1931. The universal is a variation of dovetail but provides better flexibility however less durable. The weave is widely used because of its ability to be accurate even when detached or reattached. And the picatinny which came out in 1913. While the clamp is easier to use because is just clamped on.
