Hunting is an important economic activity that many people engage in. The habit of hunting has become very common, with more and more people engaging in it these days. Since the environments where these animals exist vary, different techniques should be used when hunting depending on the kind of animal being hunted. In some cases, the US government dictates the kind of methods that should be used for the job.

For example, in some states, it is unlawful to kill a whitetail deer using a shotgun. Shotguns are considered dangerous weapons that kill animals in a bad way. In locations where the use of shotguns is a crime, it is a criminal offence to use them. Those people who break this law may pay fines or even do some prison time.

Regardless of the type of animal one is hunting, it is very important to learn how to stalk animal without being detected. Animals such as deer and bears live in places with cover. Deer prefer cover so that they can hide from predators while bears prefer cover because they need to stay hidden while they hunt. As such, one must also be able to use the cover of the trees to their advantage.

As the hunter approaches closer, they must remain concealed. One should only take a shot when they are sure and ready to take it. Just in case the animal notices the hunter, it is recommended to remain still and quiet until the animal gets back to whatever it was doing.

When taking a shot, one must ensure that they aim for the neck or head. This is the best way of ensuring that the animal will go down after being shot. In case one aims at the limb or some other parts where the animal can still run away, a follow up shot should be made immediately.
