How Intense Can a Death Race Possibly Become?

By Rob Sutter

I'm sure that you've been in at least one race during your life and didn't think much of it. Yes, you were tired out after running a lap or even an obstacle course but neither of those can compare to one particular kind of event. A death race lives up to attitude of pushing one to his or her limits and showing that person through a number of different obstacles. If you aren't so easily intimidated, it's possible that you can benefit from these kinds of races as a competitor.

Maybe you think that a death race is all in the name and isn't terribly detrimental; what's the worst that can happen to you? Yes, you're going to be running long distances, but doesn't that come with the territory? Don't think that this is the only aspect that makes up these sorts of races, since you'll find a litany of other elements at work that will either make you tougher or have you second guessing yourself. This is the kind of impact that Spartan Race can have on the growth of one's toughness, physically and otherwise.

If you're going through a field that's been in contact with the rain, you better be ready to trek through mud during this competition. In addition, you're going to be met with fire of all things, which can work to raise the game in a way that you probably wouldn't have thought about. With barbed wire to weave and maneuver through, you can imagine that this isn't the sort of event for the faint of heart. If anything, those who aren't prepared may not want to leave their homes for a while after.

Even though this may be an intimidating event, maybe you'll feel more confident in a team of friends. It's possible that you can assign yourself to a group and work with them so that some of the pressure is taken off of you. However, it's only slight since you're still going to have to encounter these obstacles as if you're pushing through a video game. There's a goal to be had and only one chance to get the course right, so you have to make sure that the team operates like a well-oiled machine.

A death race is able to push people forward, thereby showcasing how far they can go in terms of limits. You have to make sure that you can do it, though, and that you have the nerve so that you don't back away or shy from the obstacles that lie ahead. If you can do this, maybe you'll find yourself competing in a number of races to come. If you cannot, maybe the next race is one that you'll be best suited to watching from the sidelines.
