Adjusting Your Golf Swing Weight

By Antony J Parkins

Certain factors should be considered in playing golf. Swing weight is one of these. According to Ralph Matby, swing weight is the measurement of a golf club's weight about a fulcrum point established at a specified distance from the grip end of the club. It is easier defined by Michael Lamanna as the balance measurement and the degree to which the club balances towards the clubhead.

Golf swing weight is also considered as the measure on how the weight of the club feels when it is swing. This just indicates that swing weight and the weight of the club are two different things. By using a letter and a number, swing weight can be measures, while the club is measured using grams.

For beginners, swing weight does not mean anything. But professionals consider this important for it help them to make their set feel the same way in a swing.

It may be a bit complicated to determine the difference among swing weights, even professional find this hard.

But there are ways in calculating your club's swing weight. Acquiring the club's length, getting the clubhead's weight, and consulting the swing weight chart, would be ways to get the swing weight manually. You can also search the net for this.

Establishing the set of clubs you need is the key in here. You can determined it through your swing speed. The slower your swing speed, the heavier the swing weight you need. A lighter swing weight is needed for a faster swing speed. It ensures the club rotation as your body move.

By adding lead tape during post- production, you can adjust your swing weight. You can also use a larger clubhead with different shaft or grip. By customizing your clubs, you can also change your swing weight.

Nowadays, the actual weight are more often used by golfers for others say that swing weight is not important for a good golfer can easily feel the difference of swing weights.

But consider the fact that learning swing weight will help you to improve your skills in golf.
