2010 Dodge Ram Review

By Terrence U. LaBarre

The various styles of pick up trucks would have certain group of individuals that serve as their loyal fans. The usual basis of these individuals in picking certain brands and styles over the others is their devotion to that particular brand. Others just prefer some designs and specs so they are opting for certain model type. In 2009 though, their outlooks on pick-up trucks were revolutionized with the released of the 1500 series of Dodge Ram Truck by Chrysler. This also eventually upsurge as the company's most sough after automobile.

When it comes to buyer preference and preferences its not a "one size fits all" but rather a rationale of "different strokes for different folks". It depends on an auto buyer - or in this case truck buyers and purchasers - what their individual needs and preferences are. Some of the time it's the role that the vehicle is going to perform , sometimes it's the size and specifics of the family and even pets , other times its options available or cosmetic choices , and yet in other cases options available on the model as well as dealer support , reputation , service or alternatively auto financing.

In the former year, 2009, the light-duty diesel version of this Ram series was launched in the auto market. In 2010, a fresh version will be introduced, the more advance 2-mode hybrid power version. The power trains of this series are available as 4x2 rear wheel drive and the 4-wheel drive. For the four wheel drive there are two transfer cases that one can further opt for. These are the more favored electrical transfer cases and the more traditional part-time component.

Bed lengths for the Ram series range from eight feet to six feet four inches to five feet seven inches. These three bed lengths determine three types of models. One model is the Regular Cab with eight feet bed length although it can also handle the shorter beds. Another model, the Quad Cab, has six feet four inches bed length. One more is the Crew Cab with five feet seven inches bed length. Trim levels for this series is available in five levels namely the TRX, the Sport, the Laramie, the volume SLT and the base ST.

Two last options to consider when evaluating Dodge Ram trucks are the types of drive train and length of truck beds. There are both 4 x 2 rear wheel drive and full 4 wheel drive with two types of transfer case arrangements available for four wheel drives. These include those for part time four wheel drive and more desired eclectically driven all wheel four wheel drive setups. Lastly when picking or selecting your Dodge Ram truck consider the size of truck "bed" for your needs, functions and requirements. The length of beds for Dodge Ram trucks is offered in three sets. These include eight feet, six feet four inches and five feet seven inches. The eight foot length is used in the "Regular Cab" body styling," Quad Cab" runs six feet four inches, and finally "Crew Cab and cabs will give your five feet seven inches. Your choice or choices all depends on your personal preferences and requirements. The story has been told and retold of the lottery winner who came into a Dodge truck dealership and asked the salesperson about color choices available for Dodge Ram models. Apparently he was referring to the showroom luxury display model. The young salesperson took out the Chrysler color brochure and carefully detailed the color choices available. The excited buyer announced to him "Good. I will take one of each". Another satisfied Dodge Ram truck buyer - or in this case sets of owners and drivers hit the road.
