3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Golf Swing

By Barney Bertch

Golf is great pastime activity. Golfing is enjoyed by people of all ages. The whole family sometimes gets into the game when parents get clubs for their children. Some people who used to think the game was boring have grown to love it.

One pretty effective tip is to rotate through the ball with your hands. Most people will have an instinctive feeling that they need to "flip" their wrists but you need to avoid doing this. When you make contact with the ball, your watch wrist should be pointed toward the ground so that, when you follow through, your wrist is pointed straight forward. If you can do this you will reduce your slice and keep your ball more on target. You will notice that your ball will travel farther this way too because of the maximized strength at the point of contact.

Always avoid swinging too fast - danger there. Swinging too quickly is something that many new golfers make the mistake of doing. Ok, be sure to inject a little pause when you're swinging and are at the very top of it. Just a short little pause will do, thank you; not overly-dramatic in any way. Don't destroy the feel and rhythm of your swing with your pause - just ever so quick for the pause. You will swing back, and then you'll swing forward, and that is why you need to pause so you maintain control all the way through.

Swinging the club at just the ball is a common misconception of beginners. But swinging through the ball will help improve your swing. Your follow through is just as important as the rest of your backswing and down swing. Here are some tips for practicing your follow through.

Set out two tees and place your ball on the first one. You should place the two tees about eight inches apart. In one swing, practice hitting the ball and the second tee. With enough practice, you should be able to hit the ball and make it over the second tee in one stroke.

This hitchhiker position is the position you want your right hand to be in during your backswing. This means that when your club is at waist height you should be able to look back at your hands and see your right thumb pointing upwards toward the sky. Another good thing to remember during your backswing is that your left hand should be in the "handshake" position. Forward and palm to the right. This is an easy tip for improving your golf swing all the way through follow through.

There are many options and ways to improve your golf swing which will improve your overall game. Some of the things you can do to improve your swing include getting the right clubs, practicing your stance, and practicing your swing.
