Where To Find Golf, Hertfordshire, UK

There is a wealth of course to play golf Hertfordshire. There are more than seventy courses to choose from. The county of Hertfordshire is found directly north of London. It has easy access from London through good transport links. Its easy access make it a popular place for golfers, particularly from the London area.

Of all the courses you have to choose from, some are only open to members and can only be played on through invitation by a member. Other courses are not member clubs and can be paid and played on. They have eighteen and nine hole courses. Many of them also have driving ranges on the courses. Or there are stand alone driving ranges where you can go and hit some balls.

Many clubs also incorporate a big social calendar for their members and guests. They organize a range of events through the year. These differ from club to club but most will do theme dinners, fund raising events and celebratory events for special dates through the year.

Most clubs may also have competitions, which may be between their members only or inviting other clubs. Many clubs have men's and women's groups that play separately on different days.

There are some specialist resorts in the area, which focus on luxury hotels which incorporate a high quality golf course. These hotels are full-service with restaurants, bars, leisure clubs and spas. They are a perfect retreat for golfers. The most popular one in Hertfordshire is The Grove, near St Albans.

Golf Hertfordshire is the birth place of the Ryder Club. Back in the 1920s, Samuel Ryder who played on the Verulam Course, donated the Ryder cup. The Ryder cup is now one of the most popular Golf competitions in the world.
