As someone who drives himself back and forth from places, I've seen a lot of people get around in other ways. When I go to work, for instance, I see both shoppers and fellow workers travel by different methods. Some of them take taxis while others carpoolbeside their family and friends. However, probably the most efficient way to get to and from places is by biking. City bikes, in many senses, have positives that help not only the world's condition but that of a person's body as well.
Probably the most all-important thing to note in terms of city bikes is the lack of fuel that they eat up. As much as I travel around in my Ford Taurus, I make it a point not to take my car around unless I absolutely have to. One of the reasons is the quantity of gasoline I find myself using on a habitual basis. Bikers do not have to worry about that problem as those are run by human effort, not by outside sources that are absolutely necessary.
Biking also has helpful effects on a person's well-being as well. Before my bike was stolen out of my garage a few years back, I used to love riding around for a couple of hours since that burning sensation of exercise felt so satisfying. It felt good to know that I was getting something out of riding my bike around and I'm sure at least a good bulk of people who get around via bicycles feel the same way. This should be a mainstay way to get around from place to place, not just for the betterment of the Earth but also for one's wellness.
I can follow why many people don't want to ride around and the lack of a commuter bike is the con that weighs the very most. However, there are those who just cannot handle exercise. How well do you think a 70-year-old man in average condition, at least for someone of that age, will do if they are trying to pull a Tour de France with several miles of biking ahead of them? Age is just another facet that people simply cannot help. Prime physical conditions as well as the means to ride are the two factors to consider, at least in my mind.
City bikes have great advantages to driving around and had my bike not been stolen from under my nose, I would go out to bike without a second thought. There are so many advantages to doing so that it would be a hard offer to reject. I like to stay in as good shape as possible and biking is arguably the best exercise one could get for their legs. It also helps in regards to the world around us, less gasoline emissions taking place and the environment being able to breathe just a little bit easier.
