The Importance Of Jogging In An Exercise Regime

Everyone knows that getting exercise is important. They understand that in addition to helping them lose weight a regular workout routine also helps improve their heart health. What many people do not understand is the importance of jogging in an exercise regime. They do not understand why they should jog when they could run or walk.

Most people assume that jogging is basically the same thing as walking, this is wrong. There are some pretty big differences between walking and jogging. The first difference is that jogging is more cardiovascular, your heart rate increases more when you jog then it does while walking. Another difference is that you move more body parts when you jog, your arms pump instead of swing and you lift your legs more, the more body parts you use, the more calories you burn.

Walking does not do much to help a person build muscle tone, but the jogging does. When a person jogs they use their legs to lift their body before propelling it forward With the exception of running up stairs, there is no other exercise that can create the same type of sculpted look in a person's lower legs.

It also works by replacing the fat stores with muscles. In addition to improving the strength in the lower legs, when a person is jogging they have to work on balancing and supporting their upper body, this improve their core strength.

Jogging is a great stress reliever. When a person is jogging, especially once they have gotten to the point where they are slightly out of breath, they have to really start to concentrate on what they are doing.

They have to put so much thought into putting one foot in front of the other that they are no longer able to think about their personal problems. Sometimes this brief escape is the only thing need to put their life and personal issues into prospective Even if the person is unable to resolve their issues but they are at least able to get a brief vacation from them.

When an individual remember the importance of jogging in an exercise regime they can make sure that they have a workout routine that uses jogging and other forms of exercise to achieve the optional health. Most fitness experts would recommend jogging two or three times a week, saving the remaining days of the week for different types of workouts.
