What Do You Know About Tee Times

By Anne Harvester

Tee time is a reservation made by golfers to play at a particular golf course. In this case no matter how crowded the golf course is having a tee time assures the players of having a chance at playing. When approved the group is assigned a particular time at which they would have to play for example at 10.30am. The appointments are made at the golf shops or at the courser's website where a reservation service is offered. The major reason for having such a procedure is to ensure organization and proper co-ordination of the matches.

Different courses have different tee times and it is therefore advised that one checks the time schedules. If the group of golfers fail to turn up at the specified time allocated to them no exceptions are made and in some even penalized for the disruption in schedule.

Though this might seem necessary not all golf courses require players to book tee times. It is however advised that if one is visiting a course for the first time you should check on their reservation service and go through their policies or how they operate to avoid disappointment. In a case where one had not booked an appointment the person might have to wait for hours to play.

There are usually short time intervals of around eight to fifteen minutes between the golf course tee times. This allows player to get sufficient rest and time before they start their next play. However as said before if there is a delay in reaching the course during the allotted time you might lose your space.

It is also required that the group making the reservation specifies the number of people in their group. This helps in informing the administration on the capacity of golfers they would be accommodating. During the reservation the golfers might also be advised to inform the office whether they might be renting other equipment such as clubs or a cart just to avoid inconveniences on the golfers' case.

Making reservations at the golf shop is usually a much better idea than booking online (unless you know the course very well yourself), as the attendants working there can help you pick the best time slot. They can also advice you on the best conditions and rates available.

With the reservation comes with reservation fee that may vary from one course to another. There might also be discounts that might be offered and the golfer should also enquire on the off peak seasons. Credit cards are used as the main monetary form of payment. If need be for review or cancellation the administration gives out a confirmation code that allows the golfer to do this.

Even after making the reservations one has to observe the policies that come with it. There might be cases where a fee is imposed when a golfer cancels the reservation on even makes reviews. Policies regarding reservations might allow one to book even thirty minutes prior to the game while others might require the golfer to book way earlier.
