By Levvees Marphiey

Golf is one of the sports that has made Tiger Woods extremely well-known. The first golf game was played in Scotland in March 1672. The first written record of golf is James II's banning of the game in 1457, seeing golf as an unwelcome distraction to learning archery. The earliest compilation of golf regulations were put together for Edinburgh Golfers in March 1744. The Open Championship is the most ancient golf tournament known with its birth on October 1860 in Scotland.

If you are new to golfing and is extremely interested in learning, you have to start off at a driving range, take at least four or five lessons, learn the fundamentals, progress to a 9 hole course and eventually venture out into the great unknown of an 18 hole golf course. You can also opt to be coached by a professional if you like. This will cost you money but will be the best investment you'll ever make.

You would need to keep in mind the basic rules of golf before venturing into the sport, though. You can search for these vital guidelines online and even make a copy of your own. When you're down browsing through the guidelines, you'll be able to perform better in your next golf game. To furthermore improve your golfing skills, you can try following the tips below.

First you must know how to align the clubface. The most popular error that beginners make is misalignment of the clubface. The correct method to align the shots is to start checking the target from the back of the ball. This will give you a perspective of the entire hole and help you aim right where you want the ball to go.

Second tip is that you must know how to pick the perfect club. Having the perfect club on hand will make you feel confident that you'll make the right swing.

Lastly, you should have a good grip. What this pertains is that you must have a tight grip. You can achieve this by taking hold of the club with your gloved hand, with the handle between your first knuckle and palm. Then, you should apply the ungloved hand so it wraps comfortably around the handle. Once this is done, the thumb and index fingers of both hands must create two Vs that should point the right side of the chest or right shoulder.

Since you already have adequate knowledge regarding golf, you can now start playing like Tiger Woods.
