It is beautiful and has the perfect colour but do you know what to do with it? Before you buy that new bike, are you sure it is the right one for you?

Many want to have a two-wheeled transport without doing a research or any understanding which bike is going to suit their needs. Do not make a rush decision - just take your time and learn the differences between bikes and which is best for you.

By following a few tips, you will realize how to choose the right bike for you.

What do you want your bike for? Many think that there is one answer to this question - to ride. Bikes have various uses so it is important you know what you want a bike for.

Do you want to head to the tracks and trails with your bike? Maybe a mountain bike is the right choice for you. Or you want a faster way to commute to work in the morning. A hybrid city bike or road bike is lightweight and suitable for you. Do you have plans to head down to the skating park with some friends of yours? A BMX bike is a better choice because it would have a better air and live to tell tale after the good jump.

Rent a bike to try it Do not be like those people that enters the shop, pretend they understand the sales person and makes a decision based on the cycle's information sheet. If you want to get a good bike, you will need to try it out.

Look for someone with the type of bike you are interested in and borrow it for the weekend or, if none of your friends have the road bike or whatever type of cycle that you are interested in, look for a shop that will let you borrow or hire a test bike for a few days.

Buy Great Quality There are a lot of low cost bikes that are out there just waiting to tempt you. Don't go for the cheapest - you will find yourself shelling out for replacement bike parts or spending money on bike repairs far too soon. A good bike might be a bit more expensive than some of the budget options that they put in the window to tempt you with, but the extra durability and comfort is definitely worth the money.

If you are in a budget, you can buy a used bike. You can buy second-hand because it is far more preferable than buying something new for cheap. Getting a new chain or replacement parts to get it back into a new condition won't really cost much and you will still have the quality of a good brand or manufacturer.

Talk with sales representatives Not all sales rep are there to make a sale by any means necessary. Discuss to your local Wellington bike shop employees with what you are seeking for and what your budget is - they will be more willing to assist you make the right choice.

Purchasing a bike is another significant investment. Just relax and take your time to do some research. Choose something that you will enjoy and have fun with.
