How Can I Improve My Golf Game

By Kathryn Neal

Golf is a delicate game that does not rely on brute force or fast speed but rather emphasizes a lot of technique, skill, and concentration. When it comes to golfing, the small details actually count because in order to hit a ball into a very small hole, precision and accuracy are two things that are needed. So in order to find an answer to how can I improve my golf game, here is the breakdown on what the things to do are.

The first thing to concentrate on would be the feet because the feet are the one that will make use of the gravity to create force. Firstly, the feet should be positioned at shoulder width with foot behind the ball having a little more weight than the one in the front. Having this type of foot positioning is the most basic stance for any golfer to have.

As stated earlier, the hind foot will be making the sharp movement before the swing is initiated. Basically, it will be a smooth pushing movement that will make a rotational movement and create a lot of force. This will allow the ball to be hit with a lot of strength because there is a small force behind the swing.

The force from the feet will be going up to the waist which means that the waist will also be participating in the movement. The circular movement of the hip is extremely important because it adds to the force of the swing. Circular movement is the secret force behind the power of many professional golfers.

Aside from power, stability is also important so that the strength is contained and the hit will be a very clean one. In order to do this, it is always important for the elbow to remain close the hips during the preparation of the swing. This will help the arm from going astray and hitting the ball in the wrong direction.

When all of those aspects have already been covered, then the last part would be to concentrate on the arms. The correct way to hold the club would be to relax the entire arm with only the hand having a firm grip on the club. This will ease the tension in the body and allow the ball to move smoothly and surely.

Lastly, one should always remember to hit the ball with the middle of the club. Even though this is something that common sense can tell people, there are so many who still commit the mistake of using the tip of the club to hit the ball. This is wrong because doing this will result in a very wild shot.

The answer to how can I improve my golf game is to simply take time before making the shot. In order to make sure that the shot goes well, then it is important to always make sure to get the basics first. One slight mishap in positioning and movement can actually cause a loss.
