Returns On Investing In The AR-15 Stocks

By Patrice McCoy

There are many types of AR-15 Stocks among which the 8-position collapsible stock is most popular. There are cheaper commercial versions as well as rifle stocks. It is a real solid piece with no loose ends to snag or rattle. The overall look is also good and it feels smooth and well finished.

At one end of a stock, there is the compartment for the battery. It can be accessed by pushing a lever and then sliding the rubber pad firmly off from the stock. The rubber butt is held in place by a slot and there is a tapering type of sleeve for moving it into position. There is an O-ring provided which keeps the water away. The space provided is for two standard sized AA batteries.

One may adjust the cheek riser to the height that one wants. The maximum value is 1.16 inches. The thumbnuts are used for keeping the cheek riser in place. The entire thing is freely adjustable and the user may keep it anywhere he wants. Not many people like the cheek riser since they feel it gets in the way. The thumbnuts are placed to the sides of each stock.

The stocks are one that will fit both commercial buffer and mil spec tubes easily. Therefore, changing these and installing a new one should pose no problems whatsoever. If the fit is too tight then one needs to adjust the cam lever a mite to reduce the tension. One could also use the modified versions that are a perfect fit.

The tubes are designed to take both the mil-spec type and the commercial tubes with equal ease. One may make adjustments to keep the fit tight. The 8-position type stock collapsible model has a bottom rail with preloaded insets that can take up personal configurations and help you reach your configuration fast. The design allows the cheek support to become fully integrated.

The recoil is lessened to a great extent because the stock fastens to buffer tube on both the sides and keeps the line of action linear. In addition, the stock is wave shaped so that the recoil is absorbed immediately. The stock can be collapsed in eight different positions. This helps shooters who are just beginning to get the feel without being intimidated by the action. The recoil increases when the weight of the bullet increases.

Weight of the stock is more and thus is one consideration that puts some shooter off. This is more than made up by the features that put the stock in a lofty plane. One could make the weight less if one chooses not to use the cheek riser. There is also one provision for the sling, which one may fix from either side.

It is wise to invest in the AR-15 Stocks as they have good value. Among the products available on the market, these are top rated because they are robust and very durable. One would indeed be wise to invest in these.
