Muzzle Brakes Make Gun Shots A Lot Gentler

By Kayla N. Lueilwitz

It's not enjoyable when a gun recoils into the shooter's shoulder or eye socket, but muzzle brakes can prevent that by softening the impact. Muzzle breaks can be permanent devices that are fitted to the gun on purchase or at a later time, or as an attachment with their purpose to redirect propellant gases in various directions and lessen barrel rise. This softer shoot is a preference among females and all shooters desiring to reduce sudden recoil that allows for increased marksmanship.

Some competitions allow the use of these and are described in Wikipedia as, "The force generated at the muzzle brake baffles or ejector ports acts in the opposite direction to the force of recoil, thus reducing wear on the recoil-damping mechanism and allowing a lighter design." Muzzle brakes follow the basic physics law of Newton that every action produces an equal and opposite reaction, with exhaust gases directed upward producing a simultaneous downward force, and to prevent confusion the apparatus is also called a recoil brake, recoil check, recoil compensator and Mag-na-port.

By using these, recoil can be diminished from 10 to fifty per cent, or even higher. As previously mentioned, accuracy also increases with less rise of the gun barrel and aiming becomes more accurate as a consequence. However, when muzzle brake for 308 are in use the shooter and bystanders have noticed increased air pressure on the auditory canal and a rise in lead exposure with the plume of exhaust often directed backwards. Although careful shooters know to wear eye and ear protection, they still may not be sufficient to stop permanent ear damage, and in some countries are banned due to this health hazard.

We offer a variety of muzzle brakes and we invite you to view our website where you can order these devices permanently attached to any firearm we sell, or as an add-on threaded component. Our company is built on providing total satisfaction to our clients, and our products provide the accuracy that marksmen and sportsmen demand in their firearms. In fact, many of our tactical rifles come provided with muzzle breaks.

In the United States, exercise your right to have arms and equip yourself with our products that you can depend on for reliability and accuracy, enhanced with the use of surefire muzzle brake.
