How To Utilize Subconscious Mind Power To Dramatically Develop Your Golf Game

By Xavier J. Murphy

If you play golf, then you know it can be one of the most enjoyable, yet at the same time one of the most frustrating games to play. One hole you could be hitting everything perfectly, yet on the next the ball zigging and zagging between the rough and the fairway bunkers. What to do?

The trick to golf, as is the secret to any other exercise, is imagination and visualization. Ask any expert, and they'll tell you that a gigantic part of their achievement is firm, dependable, visualization. When you visualize something, you are giving straight directions to your subconscious mind on how you want to perform.

Think about a golf swing, a tee shot if you will. Do you think specially about what slant you are opening the club face, or how far back to go on the back swing? Do you know exactly what angle with which the club face strikes the ball? Most certainly not.

If you are similar to most individuals, you have a unclear idea of what direction you'd like the ball to go in. Then you swing away, and hope for the best. Unfortunately, this rarely works with any amount of reliability. From time to time you get fortunate, and hit one straight down the center, other times you don't even worry yourself looking for your ball.

So how do you tap into your authoritative subconscious mind to enhance your game? Simple. Join some dominant statements, with some tough visualizations, and repeat them in a comfortable, almost drowsy state.

For example, if you'd like a better tee-shot, you may say something like this:

I always drive my ball straight down the core of the fairway. Hitting straight shots off the tee is normal for me. My friends are envious of my dependable tee shot.

While you are saying this, visualize your ball going straight down the heart of the fairway. Picture hearing your friends talking about what a great shot it is. Picture how you feel when you hit such a distinguished shot.

The greatest time to say this to yourself, and employ your visualization is to get in a relaxed, almost snoozing state. Sit in a cozy chair, take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. Envision seeing the numbers starting with ten, and going down to one. When you get to one, take several yawning breaths, and merely say "relax" to yourself softly.

Then begin to slowly and quietly repeat your declaration to yourself, while seeing the ball go right down the middle.

If you do this two or three times a day for a week or two, you will see some remarkable improvements in your tee shot. Once you've got that part of your game down, you can work on your fairway shots, you short game, your putting, and every other feature of the game.
