Load Up On Film To Get Memorable Pictures While You Are Traveling In Italy

By Eric Simmons

Traveling in Italy, no matter what time of year it is, will give you many photo opportunities. The green hills, mountains and seashores have something for everyone. Make sure to plan your vacation well, there is much to see in this diverse country. Mountain ranges, green valleys and beautiful coastlines offer everyone a chance to experience their greatest dreams of Italy.

Traveling in the winter can vary greatly, depending on the region you are visiting. Weather is warm and damp in the warmer climes, but cold and snowy in other areas. Many tourists prefer to visit Italy in the winter because there are fewer visitors and the cost of virtually everything is lower. The local residents have their own activities that may not be available to regular tourists.

Enjoy browsing through the Christmas markets, framed by a snowy backdrop. Cooking tours to sample wonderful Italian cuisine are very popular. Even if you do not speak Italian, you will be warmly welcomed. You can also enjoy skiing in the Italian Alps in the cold weather.

Summertime, although it is the busiest time of the year for tourism, can be unbearably hot and humid. As in other tourist destinations, prices are higher during the peak tourist season. The colorful vendor stalls will fill the streets with their wears. If the weather is too hot for you, it is a perfect time to visit the cooler mountains or coastal areas.

Spring and fall are good seasons to visit because there are fewer tourists than in summer, but it is warmer than in the winter season. The pricing is lower than the summer prices, too. In the mountains, you will find that hiking has replaced skiing for outdoor fun.

Traveling from city to city can be fast, but expensive. Airplanes offer the fastest way to get around. Rail is less expensive, depending on the train you take. Super fast trains are quite expensive. The cost of the rail goes down with the speed of the train. If you are on a tight budget, you might want to look for a very slow train. Besides, slower trains are much better for seeing the countryside through the lens of your camera.

Public transportation includes buses, which may be faster than trains that scale mountains. They are also affordable. Check out the group rates for travel, it is often the best value for travel costs. When in the coastal area, ferries are used to go island hopping for a leisurely outing at a good price. Hydrofoils may also be available, they are much faster than ferries but also come at a higher price. The speed of hydrofoils may be slowed by turbulent waves, which will slow them down considerably.

Taxi stands are very important, because you cannot flag down a taxi in Italy. You must go to the taxi stand, also called a rank. Here, the taxis line up and wait for passengers. You can also use a taxi by calling their dispatcher with your location. Charges for riding in a taxi go up if you have luggage, or if you travel on a holiday or Sunday. If your travel budget is generous, you may want to rent a car. It will afford you a great look at the countryside, but it is very expensive, as is the petrol used to fuel it.
