Want To Make Your Golf Game Better?

By Ian Tate

As addictive as golf can be it can be equally frustrating too. After you master the game all is well but getting to that point can feel slow and painful. Make these adjustments to your game instead of giving up.

The first step in the process of becoming a genuine golfer is to get the right gear. This goes beyond clubs and includes clubs and proper attire. Two-piece balls or three-piece balls are the main types of balls from which you can choose. Players who are more advanced should use three-piece balls while new players to the game of golf are better served by using the two-piece variety. You must take the time to master the game so that you can move on to the next type of ball. With clothing, your primary concern is finding attire that isn't going to interfere with your swing. For instance, you won't be able to make those beautiful long drives you see on television in a tight fitting jacket.

Balance is vitally important to good swings. If you're having trouble staying on your feet you're going to have a hard time hitting the ball. You'll be able to hit the ball every single time when you master the process of pivoting on one single point. Your pivot point is generally located 3 inches below the point at which the base of your neck and collarbone intersect. This is the fixed point around which the rest of your body will pivot. There are a few wonderful exercises that were created with golfers in mind that will help with balance. Your swing also depends on strength and flexibility so be sure to add exercises to build these as well.

The saying that practice makes perfect is appropriate for golf as well as many other things in life. The more time you invest in practicing golf the better you can expect your game to be. Consider spending a little time with a golf pro to find out if you have any bad habits or major weaknesses that need to be corrected. After all, you don't want to spend a lot of time making your bad habits even harder to break. Instead of getting keyed up over performance, make a point of having fun. Failing to live up to your expectations can lead you to really dislike the game. The professionals in the game were only able to get where they are because they spent long hours every day practicing the game.

You'll find that a great golf game requires many things - these are a great foundation though. When you decide to concentrate on playing well and enjoying the game instead of "winning" you'll find that you will quickly become the envy of the course.
