The Inside Track Behind Why People Love Slots

By Simon M Skinner

It is believed that gambling has been in existence since the days of the caveman with one person betting the other if they could be the first one to bring down something for the cooking pot. It is a form of competition; trying to see if one can outdo the other. In a sense it is the same with gambling in casinos using slot machines. Trying to beat the house (actually the machine) and sometimes succeeding is Why People Love Slots.

Indian casinos in the United States are now a common occurrence. Found to be a lucrative way to bring added income to tribes they have developed these casinos to the peak of sophistication. Being able to control any problems, by use of their own governmental controls, has helped immensely in avoiding any troubles which might occur.

Several years ago the best known casinos in the United States were located in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada with Reno being the biggest. At the present time all the states have casinos many run by Indian tribes, but a few independent once states began to relax regulations. They have become very sophisticated. Many offer theatre shows with famous people, excellent hotel accommodations, wedding chapels, and many more things to entice the gambler as well as other visitors.

Compared to the old days when one put a single coin in the machine, today's slots are arranged to increase the bet substantially. The person playing decides how many opportunities to win are available and plays accordingly. Of course, supposedly, the more money put in the more chances to win, but this is not necessarily the case.

It is easy to become entranced with the possibility of increasing one's initial investment or 'hitting it big' simply by pushing a button. Brilliant, flashing lights stating how many thousands of dollars it is possible to win draw the gamblers' attention and they are willing to try in the hopes of winning it big. Seeing other people win and thinking 'it could be me' is on many people's minds.

At a casino many people play a game such as poker or roulette which take larger bets. For this reason some people avoid these games. In fact, the slot machine will often cost more than these games, but when one lacks knowledge of the game's rules or wishes to play without being noticed, slots are preferred. It is possible to sit and play the slot machine and no one will notice if you lose money, while, if you win, you are the object of envy.

Why People Love Slots is universal. It is easy to put the money in and push a button. It is not necessary to think about rules of the game or whether one will be embarrassed by making a mistake. Usually, free drinks are offered and the chair is comfortable. In the back of each player's mind is the possibility of winning really big and going home with something to brag about. Many casinos have the added enticement of free bus rides, coupons upon arrival, and a reduced dinner price. As a result, one finds many senior citizens in the slot machine area of a casino.
