How You Should Organize Your Golf Vacation

By Adriana Noton

If you find yourself hitting the golf course most weekends then the idea of a vacation which combines having a few rounds in a new place on new courses probably does sound like your ideal trip. It is a big business which is why there are a number of travel companies out there that actually specialize in this type of vacation and a quick search on the internet is going to give you a lot of information to go through.

Something that should be mentioned early on is that you should also consider trying to get special golf travel insurance in place of the normal travel insurance. This shall give you some additional cover for the risk of picking up an injury whilst on the course and as you know treatment can be very expensive in various countries so it is good to have this extra cover.

The cover does also extend to protecting your equipment so you know you can claim should your clubs be either lost or even damaged whilst in transit but do make sure that it is more than enough to replace them. The amount of cover that you have is detailed within the policy so do pay attention to the terms and conditions.

For this kind of trip it is perhaps better if there are a group of you going so you need to get together and work out which part of the world you would like to visit. It can be a very difficult choice to make since there are so many wonderful courses spread around the globe so perhaps think about doing a search to see where a large number of top courses are situated within a reasonably small area.

By the time you narrow down the area you need to then go through the different courses and see which ones you would love to play a round on. It is easy to get carried away with the ones you would like to go to but do not stretch yourself too far as you can always go back another time to play those you miss out on so write down your favourites then a backup list.

When you have your list you need to start finding out about how you can play a round as well as the costs. Do ask your travel company for some advice as they can offer packages so you can play on certain courses but they can also have other links to more courses where you could get a good deal so just ask and find out.

If the courses are spread around then you are going to need to hire a large car if there are a few of you. This can also be done with some of the travel companies so ask them about it but do remember you are going to have a fair amount of equipment to carry around with you.

So it does really come down to planning your golf vacation so you know where you are going and where you are playing. Do talk to the travel company and get them to help you as much as possible and then just enjoy the experience of playing on a different course whilst on holiday.
