By Tom Doerr

There are many golf clubs that are used when playing the game. You will find them in various sizes as well as features. In order to improve how you play the game of golf it is essential for you to know how they are used.

A common one is the wood. It is referred to as the wood because originally it was made of wood. This has changed because now they are made of metal like steel or titanium alloy. The wood has a deep club head. The driver which is also known as the 1 wood is hard to master especially for the beginner as it is long.

The length reaches 45 inches therefore the swing is not easy to control. The drivers have small heads and they help get the ball into the air. There are also irons and they are called so because the club heads are made of metal.

A standard set of irons consists of a total of 8 clubs. They are differentiated by a number found on the sole of each club. The shorter club has a trajectory that is steep. This means that the shots rise at an angle which is much steeper and will also fall at an angle that is steep.

There are also wedges and they are rather similar to irons, but they are considered as a separate category. This is because they are specialized. The wedges come in 3 different forms. There is the sand wedge, gap wedge and lob wedge.

The club is also known as a scoring club. This is because they are the ones that are used to hit shots close to the flagstick. You can also use putters golf clubs. They are the most used by individuals around the world. They have a wider range when compared to any other club. They have three lengths and three types of club heads.
