The game of Golf was originated in Scotland way back in the mid 1600s. Since then the game's popularity reached across continents and nations and is now a worldwide game played everywhere. Thanks to its rising popularity, several sporting goods producers entered the golf market to benefit themselves based on the consumer demands.

To have a better perspective on the best brands of clubs, here is a brief write-up on the top five brands in alphabetical order based on reviews.

Callaway. The company has been in the market since 1982, providing a variety of golfing equipment and accessories. At first this was a really popular brand among the beginners as they were known to manufacture forgiving clubs.

It was when the Big Bertha range of clubs was out that the brand gained the limelight. It's the X460, an all titanium 460cc driver that enables longer and straighter tee shots that are the best-sellers among golfers.

Cobra. Cobra golf clubs have been in the market since 1972. In the past, there have been a couple of professional golfers who have endorsed this brand, the most popular being the ace golfer Gary Norman.

Nike. The already established sporting goods brand Nike, entered the golfing market in 1984. The Nike golf product gained popularity once they signed on Tiger Woods to endorse them on a twenty year contract in 1985.

TaylorMade. In the year 1979, the TaylorMade Metalwood clubs were the first to use metal in the manufacture of golf clubs. The highlight of this metal golf club was its ability to drive the ball faster compared to a persimmon and wooden clubs, which were otherwise widely used earlier.

Titleist. The Acushnet Company which owns the Titleist brand has been in the golfing business since 1962. The Scotty Cameron range of clubs was the most well-known products under their company. Tiger Woods used this brand before his association with Nike.
