Why Is The GMC Topkick Bike Great For Light-Trail Riding?

By Katrina Harden

If you are new to the world of mountain biking, you will be off to a good start with the GMC Topkick Mountain Bike. It is a great off-road bike for novices and cycling enthusiasts alike to tool around town or biking to work.

It has an appealing style with both aluminum and well-built steel frame with front/rear disc brakes. It comfortably supports a 200-pound 6'0" person and it performs wonderfully on harsh terrains and in inclement weather.

The Topkick is a rugged all-terrain bike that is ideal for light off-road biking but the front derailleur has problems shifting from first gear to third gear. Unfortunately, you may have to take it to a bike shop to get it adjusted if you decide to buy it online.

Although the bike is easy to put together, it comes with limited instructions, if you buy it online, and the bike is a bit heavy. It weighs 38lbs, ideal for riding around town and commuting.

It has the following features:

* It is built around a 26 inch full suspension aluminum frame for extra strength without lots of extra weight

* The Topkick's drive-train is outfitted with Microsoft push shifters that control Shimano's TZ-30GS derailleur

* Floating beam suspension design is mated to a Zoom suspension fork with elastomer/spring technology gives the bike a smooth and steady performance when riding on rough terrain.

* Up front suspension is handled by a Zoom suspension fork with 65 mm of travel, which can handle rough and smooth terrains

* V-shaped alloy rims and alloy hubs work together to provide lighter weight wheels that are very strong and durable

* For stopping smoothly under any weather and road conditions, The Topkick comes equipped with front and rear Promax disc brakes that are superior to rim brakes.

The GMC Topkick provides hours of riding fun for the entire family. You can attach a child's bicycle seat with easy set-up and it provides a smooth ride and plenty of room for you and a toddler. The child's seat does not interfere with pedaling and the solid well-built frame with dual disc brakes will keep you both safe for hours of riding.

The front suspension will allow you to go over bumps as high as 8" with ease. When you ride on bumpy trails, you will hardly feel a thing and the speed on the bike is decent enough even though it is not built for speed. You can easily pedal to 22mph and the disc brakes allow you to stop on a dime if you need to.

The GMC Topkick is a fast responsive bike that is very sturdy and well-built. It will provide you with great exercise and hours of recreational biking with friends and family.
