Why You Should Choose Aluminum Handgun Cases

By Rodney Greyling

If you do not have a concealed carry weapons permit, you are not going to get away with simply holstering your weapon and leaving for work. Even if you do have a permit, you still need a way to protect and secure your pistol when you do not have it in the holster. For those instances you need to own a pistol case. If you are interested in the most protection and security available, you should consider a metal pistol case.

Metal pistol cases are available in many varieties. Depending on your needs and the quality you want, the prices could range from $35 to nearly $100. It all depends on the size and features you are looking for.

Metal pistol cases are designed to securely hold your weapon,or anything else you put in it, and keep the contents from moving around once the lid is closed. If the case is accidentally dropped your pistol could become damaged by the impact it receives inside the case. The cases are filled with a dense foam that will hold everything stable.

Another thing to think about is how weather-resistant the case is. If you are ever caught out in the rain with your pistol you need to be sure that your case will protect the gun. Cheaper cases have a tendency to leak in heavy rainfall. The pistol and the interior of the case both get wet. Without proper care the foam can get musty, and might possibly even start to get moldy.

One reason that metal cases are desirable is that they provide the maximum protection for your weapon. Cloth cases offer convenience, but they do not offer protection beyond keeping the pistol from becoming scratched. Metal cases, on the other hand, are designed to keep the contents of the case from receiving any damage.

The best part about metal pistol cases is that they are not heavy and are easy to carry. Metals like aluminum provide a great deal of protection, but are very light weight. They are durable, they don't rust or corrode, and they are very affordable.

One other area where metal cases beat their competition is in the area of security. Metal cases are by far harder to steal than any of their cheaper counterparts. Many of the newer cases come with pry-resistant latches, and the cases lock very securely and are difficult to breach.

Cloth cases are easily cut open, and even plastic cases can be cracked open. That is not the case with metal cases. When thieves are looking for something to steal they are more likely to go after the weapon that is easiest to get to. When they see a locked metal case they will move on to an easier target.

There may be no such thing as an absolute guarantee the safety and security of your pistol, there are way to increase the likelihood that it will be secure and unharmed. Transporting your weapon in a metal pistol case is the safest way to go.
