When my mind drifts to commuter bikes, I don't think I could ever envision anything potentially dangerous arising. Biking, in my mind, should be a hobby and using it to travel from place to place shouldn't pose any risk. For one person, they seemed to do the opposite and they worked to turn her life around. She's on the right direction and it's surprisingly positive to see just how much of an impact that they can have.
The Chicago Tribune reported on a story centered around a woman named Cynthia Bell. Essentially, she is doing her part now in order to keep cyclists safe upon their commuter bikes. Biking authorities such as Linus have taken to this story and have commented on it as well. However, Bell's life hasn't always been perfect and she found herself hanging around with the wrong crowd early on in her life. It's just fortunate she was able to turn things around in order to help a younger generation.
It should come as something of a pleasant surprise that Bell became such a powerful biker because even she wasn't so high on cycling growing up. She seemed herself sedentary and if a road map was placed in front of her, she was lost. She lived a rather sheltered life as a result, since her family was overprotective due to a city ridden with crimes and drugs. It wouldn't be long until she would use her bicycle as if it were a religion.
Getting caught up in commuter biking must have helped to show her the benefits that it could have. Once such a bike is utilized, one can see physical changes start to form. After all, this is technically a form of exercise that can be done across long distances and if it is, there is not telling how many calories can be turned. In addition, being able to get to work faster must be a perk for Bell since packed streets would only impede her progress otherwise.
For any person who constantly moves about on a daily basis, perhaps they will see the benefits of utilizing commuter bikes constantly. People can find themselves utilizing them not only as a form of travel but one of exercise as well. For the people who believe that they don't exercise nearly enough, this might be the outlet they need. Bell is one of those success stories that should be looked to by those who want to get in on the trend.
